From April 23rd to 24th, 2023, the second review meeting of the EU-funded project AMPERE (Additive Manufacturing-based Production of Embedded Robust Electronics) took place in Nuremberg at neotech AMT.
Nürnberg, April 2023
The goal of this project is the development of reliable and scalable digital 4D manufacturing methods using embedded robust electronics. By combining additive manufacturing (also known as 3D printing) and the fourth dimension – the addition of electrical and optical functionalities – AMPERE aims to enable flexible, reliable production of intelligent systems relevant to Industry 4.0 and intelligent industrial processes. Use cases in the project are 4D processes for the production of innovative light sources and ethernet connectors as well as surgical instruments with additional functions for minimally invasive procedures via veins.
In the project, XENON refers to the development and integration of highly precise and flexible dispensing and pick & place systems with 3D functionality.
The meeting in Nuremberg marked the end of the second year of the project. The results presented by the partners were consistently positively evaluated by the reviewers of the funding bodies present and show that the project is on the right track. Now that the necessary 4D production technologies and processes have been largely developed, the focus of work in the last year of the project will be on the realization of product demonstrators in the individual use cases.
