30th Industry Working Group “Future Stable Assembly”

More than 25 representatives of various companies, from all over Germany, met on 27th of November for the 30th Industry Working Group at XENON in Dresden. Managing Director Dr. Hartmut Freitag welcomed the guests and presented the company, which has grown strongly over the past years (54 million sales, approx. 290 employees). There were numerous technical discussions and various lectures on the topics of assembly automation and production organization:

  • “Automated Manufacturing, Assembly and Test Technologies for Actuators and Sensors” Kay Truxa, Sales Manager, XENON Dresden

  • “Application cases for Augmented Reality in assembly automation” Felix Eitner, Control Engineering XENON Dresden

  • “Laser scanner-assisted hall layout planning and material flow with visTABLE©touch” Tino Riedel, Head of Modelling, plavis GmbH

  • “Competitive advantage through prospective simulation in the planning of industrial production” Carsten Otto, Head of Manufacturing Process Development, imk automotive GmbH

During a guided tour through the various XENON buildings, the representatives were given an insight into the company's processes and were able to view some automation projects, both individual modules and interlinked production lines. The guests were impressed by the technological diversity, the high professional competence and the complexity of the XENON systems.

With Carsten Otto's lecture, the following final discussion, a general exchange of experiences and the reference to the next appointment, the meeting of the working group came to an end.
