As a network partner for Automation Network Dresden since 2015, XENON managing director Dr. Hartmut Freitag has enriched the network's profile, which was previously focused on the semiconductor industry, with his presentations on automation solutions for sensor and actuator manufacturing. This expanded scope is further reflected in the work of Mr. Weber, new managing director of FEP and one of XENON's key accounts in the region, who shares his insights into the automated production of oil pressure switches.
Participants at this year's Innovation Forum discussed the increasing flexibility of production methods, as well as the growing requirements for automation technology and intelligent production facilities. Optimized manufacturing processes are designed to allow greater product diversity while also avoiding production Errors.
A total of around 200 guests from Germany and all over the world followed the invitation from AND, an initiative of five Dresden-based leaders in specialized automation: HAP GmbH, Roth & Rau-Ortner GmbH, AIS Automation Dresden GmbH, SYSTEMA GmbH, and XENON Automatisierungstechnik GmbH ("XENON Automation"). Over the course of the two-day conference, a diverse range of speakers from the business and research sectors held a series of talks all about the future of automation in an era of Industry 4.0. The conference provides a forum for participants to discuss their ideas and exchange additional insights.
The first conference day concluded with a traditional evening event and award ceremony – held this year at Watzke Ballroom and Brewery – where the managing directors of all AND member companies gave the annual Innovation Award to AIXTRON SE based in Herzogenrath for their innovative approach to system controls for deposition Equipment.
